New headquarters for the NFL Seattle Seahawks football team were completed in 2008 and are located along the shores of Lake Washington. Significant site features include two acres of shoreline restoration, a planting palette of Northwest native and regionally adapted ornamental plants, a large grass viewing berm, curbless parking areas, and the main entry plaza. The entry plaza is bisected by six massive Tenino sandstone blocks as extracted from the quarry- a metaphor for the raw power and strength of a football team’s offensive and defensive lines. * AECOM project.
