The San Ysidro Land Port of Entry redevelopment is designed to be the port of the future and is targeted to achieve LEED Platinum certification due to energy efficiency, water conservation strategies, and an integrated design process. Landscape strategies include efficient irrigation using recycled and harvested water, use of native plants and LID strategies and restoration of native coastal sage scrub habitat. The site is designed for safety, security and comfort of the 102,000 who cross the border here between Mexico and the United States each day.
